An Update on Pre-k in the PA Budget

As the budget impasse continues, rest assured the Pre-K for PA campaign is still working hard to secure significant state investments in high-quality pre-k so more children can benefit from this once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunity.

Recently, Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children and the campaign’s other founding organizations co-authored an op-ed in the Harrisburg Patriot-News detailing why Pennsylvania should make high-quality pre-k a budget priority this year and in the years to come. It stated in part:

“Each year, more than 200,000 3- and 4-year-olds in Pennsylvania are missing out on this once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunity. These kids don’t get a 'do-over' if they miss out on high-quality pre-k. For them, this negotiation must also be about increased funding.”
